Bandera is a Spotted Saddle Horse Gelding. Standing at 15’2hh and built like a tank, he is suitable for any sized rider. If you’re looking for a nice gelding that is easy enough for the babies to ride, or take out and enjoy yourself, Bandera is your guy. There are not many horses I would ever consider “Kid Broke” but Bandera is the closest thing I have ever had to a true unicorn. He has all the heart in the world, or will sit and walk on a loose rein all day until asked to pick up. Bandera has a nice slow gait, or can pick up and travel down the road smoothly around 15mph. Don’t let that scare you, because he will settle right down and walk all day if that is what he is asked. He will stand for mounting, to be tacked, bathed or shod. We have shot guns, and exposed Bandera to all kinds of crazy stuff. There isn’t much that bothers this guy. Bandera has crossed any creek, log and ditch we have put in front of him, without any hesitation. He does not mind standing on a picket line for overnight camping trips, or will stand tied to the trailer next to other horses like a gentleman. This guy rides perfectly in big groups as large as 30 or out alone; front, middle or in the back he is aimed to please his rider. We have ridden Bandera around large farm equipment, ATV”s, dirtbikes, side-by-sides, tarps, leaf blowers and chainsaws and he was not phased. Bandera is suitable for any level rider, and is truly a once in a lifetime horse.
